Google has started rolling out a fingerprint scanner to its phones in India, the world’s biggest smartphone market.
The iPhone 5s, the latest model to be unveiled at this year’s Mobile World Congress, will have a new version of the fingerprint scanner.
The fingerprint scanner will be sold separately for Rs. 4,999.
The device will be offered for sale in three sizes, the iPhone 5c, 5s and the 5c Plus.
Prices will start at Rs. 11,999 for the 5s Plus, while Rs. 18,999 is for the iPhone 6 Plus, which will be released in October.
The fingerprint scanner is expected to cost around Rs. 16,000, according to a report by the Indian Express.
The cheapest iPhone, the 5S, costs Rs. 20,999, and the most affordable iPad, the 6 Plus with 64GB RAM, costs over Rs. 60,000.
The iPhone 5 is the only iPhone that does not have an IR blaster, which means that you need a special accessory like a power cord or battery.
The new iPhone 5C features an infrared blaster.
A new generation of the iPhone5 will be unveiled later this month.
The handset is expected on October 22.
The previous generation was the most-used iPhone and it sold over 100 million units worldwide.
